A steel bar truss is formed from three straight bars arranged in a triangular section and resistance-welded to two continuous wavy web bars. The deck assembly comprises upper and lower chord bars, web bars, bottom formwork, and support bars. Chord bars use HRB400 or HRB300 steel; web bars use HRB400 or equivalent cold-rolled round steel; bottom formwork uses Q235 cold-rolled or galvanized steel sheet.
Standard range: chord bars 6–12 mm, web bars 4–8 mm, truss height 70–270 mm, bottom formwork width 576 or 600 mm, bottom formwork thickness 0.4–0.8 mm, panel lengths 1.0–12.0 m. Sizes outside this range are quoted against your design.
Welding the truss to the bottom formwork in the factory removes most on-site bar placement, shortens the construction programme, and holds dimensional accuracy. The completed formwork leaves a flat soffit.
On site the deck spans between steel beams and acts as permanent formwork; support bars carry the wet concrete load, and the truss works compositely with the slab once cured. Support reinforcement (vertical and horizontal) is placed on site to the structural design, and shear studs are welded through the formwork where composite action with the steel beam is required.

Cladding and decking are supplied alongside the structural steel, on the same set of drawings and the same delivery — so purlin spacing, fixings, flashings and gutters are coordinated by one party rather than negotiated between two. If your cladding is already sourced locally, we quote structure only; the quotation is itemised either way, so you can compare like with like.
Factory-finished insulated panels with a fire rating (EN 13501 or ASTM E84), a PIR core, or cold-store tongue-and-groove sealing are supplied through a partner plant — tell us the rating you need before we quote. Site-composited panels (profiled sheet with rock wool or glass wool) are supplied directly.
